Daniel I. Pusey, 66, of West Lafayette, passed away at 1:05 am, Saturday, April 26, 2014 at St. Elizabeth-Central of Lafayette.
He was born on August 5, 1947 in Logansport to the late Lloyd and Jane (Seward) Pusey. Daniel was a 1965 graduate from Logansport H.S. and went on to obtain an A.A.S from Middle Georgia College and a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a B.S. in Land Surveying Engineering, both from Purdue University.
He was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1967 to 1971 and obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant.
His marriage was to Donna Bush on August 12, 1972 in the Federated Church of Brookston.
Daniel was a member of the Logansport Masonic Lodge, ASCE, and the ISPLS. He retired from Purdue University as a Utilities Engineer on May 31, 2013 after 40 years of service.
He enjoyed singing in the church choir, traveling with his wife, reading, and playing Santa for many families, but time spent with his family was the most important thing in Daniel's life.
Surviving with his wife, Donna, of 41 years are his three daughters; Dena Pusey of Westmont, IL, Anna Pusey of Indianapolis, and Kara Klise (husband: Ryan) of Lafayette; his grandson, James Klise; and siblings; Joyce Jones (husband: Fred) of Rochester, Janice Wolford (husband: George) of Logansport, and Mark Pusey (wife: Shelia) of Lafayette.
He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Helen Mock (husband: Larry), and his mother-in-law, Grace Bush, all of Lafayette.
Preceding him in death with his parents is his son, Bill Pusey.
Friends may call from 4-8pm, Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Hartzler-Clapper Funeral Home of Brookston, with a Masonic Service beginning at 7:30 pm. There will also be a visitation from 10 am until the time of Funeral Service at 11 am, Thursday, May 1, 2014 at the Trinity United Methodist Church of Lafayette (404 N. 6th Street, Lafayette) with Pastor Linda Dolby officiating. Interment to follow in Brookston IOOF Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, Trinity United Methodist Church, or to the Daniel Pusey Memorial Fund to be used towards his grandson's college fund.
