Dolly Brown

Dolly entered this world on March 23, 1953 in Danville, IL. On May 9, 2014 she left it surrounded by her family. She loved many things including clothes, shoes, her family both human and furry, having a good time, and if she could incorporate them all together so much the better!

Dolly was preceded in death by her father Wesley T. Sullivan, brother, John W. Spikes, Marie and Monk Hull with whom she raised, father in-law, Bill Brown and nephew, Stuart Spikes.

Dolly married Steve Brown October 23, 1982 and he survives. Also survived by her mother, Helen Spikes, sister, Catherine Peacock (Tom Witchey), brothers; Michael Patnode (Hannah), Leo Spikes, her mother in-law Violet Brown, and sister in-law Jennifer Brooks (Jim).

Dolly was always very involved in her nieces and nephews lives and dearly enjoyed taking them to Michigan for their annual get away. The following nieces and nephews survive and will carry many memories of their time with Aunt Dolly and will cherish them throughout their lives. Nieces, Natalie Sparger (Gilbert), Mazie Peacock, Misty Snapp, Emily Skiles (Neil), and Elaine Patnode. Nephews, Ty Brooks (Frances), Evan Spikes (Kim), Christopher Patnode (Gabriella), Wesley Sanders, Scott and Nick Spikes.

Dolly graduated from Jefferson High School in 1971. She became a Cosmetologist in 1981, and began her 33 year career at KJ Nutt and Friends Salon. At the time of her death she was working at Taylor Hair Design. During her time in the business she built many friendships with clients and co-workers alike, and she will be dearly missed by the many people whose lives she has touched both family and friends. She had a special bond with her furry friend Joe Brown, and it truly was a lucky animal that got her as his human.
