Harry Dale Hermanson

Harry Dale Hermanson, 90, of Rensselaer, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at his residence in Rensselaer, Indiana. He was born in Monticello, IN on August 15, 1923, the son of Harry and Opal (Iliff) Hermanson.

Dale graduated from Rensselaer High School with the class of 1941. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in North Africa, Italy and France during WWII as a Jeep Driver. He was a floor mechanic for Wrights Furniture and Carpet for 41 years.

On December 11, 1943, in Rensselaer, IN, Dale married Ruth I. Miller, who passed away October 6, 2006.

Dale was a member of American Legion Post #29, V.F.W. Post #1279, and the Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving are his two loving children, Scott (Char) Hermanson, and Penny (Don) DeVault, Four Grandchildren; Jason Spangle, Lance (April) Spangle, Tony (Leesa) Hermanson, Casey (Nolan) Hitchcock. Eight Great- Grandchildren, Kortney, Kelsey, Jazlin, Drayke, Lilly, Dallas, Addison,and Bristol. Dale is proceeded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Friends will be received by the family at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 1-3 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer Wednesday, June 4 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor John Hostetter officiating. Burial will follow at Weston Cemetery, Rensselaer with military honors. Memorials may be made to the American Juvenile Diabetes Association or The Jasper County Hospital Home Healthcare and Hospice.
