Arthur "Joe" Kirby, 61, of Indianapolis, formerly of Delphi, passed away at 11:39 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Born January 10, 1953 in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Morris and Rose (Ghere) Kirby.
Joe was a semi truck driver for 31 years for Quemetco Trucking out of Indianapolis, prior to that he drove for Red Ball Trucking Company for 7 years. He enjoyed watching all forms of racing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and his Miller Lite beer. Joe was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan and a long time season ticket holder.
Surviving is his brother, Thomas "Tom" Kirby (wife, Karen) of Jamestown, IN, nieces and nephews, Rose, Tek, David, and Todd Kirby, 5 great nieces and 4 great nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" Kirby and a great niece, Brittany.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until noon on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Burial to follow at The Preserve at Spring Vale Cemetery. Following the burial, friends are invited to join the family at Tom and Karen Kirby's home in Jamestown, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wheeler Mission in Indianapolis.
