Thomas R. Dailey, 73, of Lafayette, passed away at 2:27 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014 at St. Elizabeth East Hospital. Born November 10, 1940 in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Lorretta (Singer) Dailey. He was a graduate of Southwestern High School and attended Vincennes University.
Thomas married Virginia A. Bol on July 17, 1962 in Lafayette and she survives. He was a self-employed contractor for Dailey Construction for 35 years. He loved to play golf and would play anywhere. He was a huge sports fan, had coached softball and was Purdue Boilermaker fan.
Surviving with his wife are three children, Jim Dailey (fiancée, Cheryl), Shawn Dailey and Kim Rusk (husband, Ronnie) all of Lafayette, a sister Carolyn S. Vanderkolk (husband, John) of Lafayette, four grandchildren, Emily A. Dailey, Katherine M. Dailey, Drew J. Dailey, and Noah T. Rusk, and a great-grandson, Easton W. Wainey, five nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Shelby L. Rusk.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday in the Hippensteel Chapel with Pastor Ross Kuester officiating. Entombment to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the
