Kenneth W. Brown, 82, of Wolcott, passed away with his family at his side at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012, at his residence.
He was born March 4, 1930, in Lafayette, Indiana, to the late George S.E. and Margaret P. (Kingma) Brown and was a 1948 graduate of Wolcott High School.
His marriage of 63 years was to Ellen B. Burns on April 23, 1949, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Remington. She survives.
Mr. Brown farmed grain and livestock for many years and also was an owner/operator of a semi truck which he drove for several local trucking companies.
He enjoyed traveling all over the United States with his wife, especially their trip to Hawaii for their 25th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Brown was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington and was a former member of the church board and the Foresters. He also was a past member of the Wolcott Library board.
Surviving with his wife are their children; Sherry Oilar (husband: Mick), of Brookston, Larry Brown (wife: Debbie), of Wolcott, Pat Brown (wife: Terri), of Wolcott, Bruce Brown (wife: Joyce), of Lee, FL, Becky Tomlin (companion: Tony), of Winter Haven, FL, Marj Henderson (husband: Mike), of Brookston, and Greg Brown (wife: Carol), of Remington; five sisters, Rose Matthew, of Wolcott, Leona Lehman, of Mishawaka, Fran Farney, of West Lafayette, Velma Stortz (husband: Harry), of Wolcott and Dottie Goodwin (husband: Art), of Remington; and a brother, Ray Brown (wife: Jane), of West Lafayette.
Kenny was a wonderful husband and father and loved spending time with his family. He especially loved his grandchildren, Heath, Sean, Mark, Joe, Nathan, Naomi, Selena, Marcey, Jeff, Jason, Kayla, Nick and Dustin and his great-grandchildren, Noah, Emma, Drew, Coby and Natalie.
Preceding him in death with his parents are three brothers, Norb, Paul and Ed Brown and a sister, Mary Bollier.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of memorial funeral mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Remington.
