Eric T. Stetler, 44

DAYTON, IN — Eric Troy Stetler, 44, of Dayton, passed away at 6:45 p.m. the Seton Hospital, Lafayette, on Saturday, September 15, 2012.

Eric was born in Lafayette, on October 16, 1967. He was the son of Larry E. Stetler and Corine J. (Webster) Stetler. He was a life resident of the Lafayette area. He had attended Lafayette Jefferson High School.

He had formerly worked for Monon Trailers and later Smith Transport until his failing health. Eric was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He had attended the Dayton United Methodist Church. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Bill Elliott was his favorite driver. He loved motorcycles and enjoyed playing star fleet commander with others on Facebook.

Eric leaves behind his parents, Larry E. (wife: Pam) Stetler, Gallatin, Tenn. and Corine J. Stetler, Dayton, Ind.; five children, C.J. Stetler, Shane Stetler, Troy Stetler and Justin Stetler, all of Lafayette and Brooke Stetler, Minneapolis, Minn.; a brother, Larry (Margie) Stetler, Lafayette; a sister, Glenda Murphy, Lafayette; a step brother, Dustin J. Godfrey, Attica; and two grandchildren, Angel Marie and Damian Mathew.

Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Wednesday, September 19th from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m.; Pastor Austin Bender officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery, east of Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
