Richard Lee "Dick" Oliver, 73, of Lafayette, died at 11:15 AM Friday, October 5, 2012 at his residence.
He was born June 25, 1939, in Lafayette, to F. Pauline Duddelston Oliver of Lafayette and the late Chester O. Oliver.
He served in the Army Reserves for seven years.
He graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1958.
On June 26, 1957 he married Jean Haley in Battle Ground and she survives.
Dick was a co owner of Haley's Lock Safe and Key before his retirement.
He was a member of American Legion Post #11, Lafayette Bowling Association Hall of Fame, played in numerous softball and bowling leagues and enjoyed pitching horseshoes.
Surviving along with his wife and mother are children, Rick Oliver (Amy Craig) of Battle Ground, Cindy Wilson (husband Mike) of Shadeland, Jeff Oliver (wife Kim) of Lafayette, Loraine Potter of Lafayette; a sister Cheri Donnoe (husband Joe) of Fowler; grandchildren, Courtney Oliver, Nikki See, Ashley Town, Rachel Rose, Reed Oliver, Tiffany McConnell and Travis Potter; great-grandchildren, Emma Scott, Calen and Colton Rose and Hayden Oliver.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm Monday October 8, 2012 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel with a funeral Service at 10 am Tuesday, October 9 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd Lafayette, IN 47909 with Dr. Will Miller officiating. Entombment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
