Louine L. Malone, 91
Louine L. Malone, 91, of Rensselaer, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 17, 2013, at Jasper County Hospital. She was born in Jasper County on Jan. 28, 1922, daughter of the late William and Lula (Hickman) Phares. Louine was educated at country schools and graduated from Fair Oaks High School in 1941. She was a resident of Jasper County for most of her life.
On Aug. 6, 1949, in Rensselaer, Louine married Merle I. "Banty" Malone. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1995. She worked at Jasper County Hospital for 32 years, first at the old hospital as a surgical assistant, and as the head of central purchasing and supply at the new hospital. Louine was a member of Bethany Evangelical Free Church of Rensselaer. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and a past member of the Jolly Homemakers. She enjoyed bowling and sewing.
Louine is survived by one daughter: Rebecca (Mrs. Dennis) Wilder of Remington; two grandchildren: Alysia Dickinson (Mrs. Jim) Rouse of Remington, and Andrew Paul (Athena) Dickinson of Austin, TX; five great-grandchildren: Alysan Rouse, Mark Rouse, and Ashton Dickinson of Remington, and Nathanial Moorhouse and Reece Dickinson of Austin, TX; two sisters: Alberta (Mrs. Marvin) Gwin of Monticello, and Ardith Kay (Mrs. Joe) Lambert of The Villages, FL; and one brother: James (Sheila) Siebert of Watseka, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and one grandson.
Friends may call on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, 4-8 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at 11 a.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer with Rev. Frederick C. Nose officiating. Interment will follow at Weston Cemetery.
