Richard "Doc" Petersen, 60, of Lafayette formerly of Royal Center and Logansport, passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in Chicago.
Born on August 22, 1952 in Amarillo, Texas, he was the son of Donald and Claudia (Weast) Petersen.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in Vietnam.
Doc was a truck driver for Hardebeck Trucking Company in Monticello. He was a member of ABATE and several other motorcycle clubs. Doc was an avid Harley Davidson fan who enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his son, and riding to Sturgis every year with his "brothers". He was also an avid NASCAR and Dallas Cowboy fan.
Survivors include his son, Gabriel Petersen (Halie) and their children, Jaisyn and Kobi all of Loganport, mother, Claudia Petersen of Texas, sister, Laura Petersen of North Carolina, and stepchildren, Trevor Landrum of West Lafayette and Brianna Landrum of Logansport.
He was preceded in death by father, Donald Petersen.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the service.
Burial with military rites will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
There will be a celebration carry-in at the Logansport VFW following the burial service.
