Smokey Joel Ratliff

Smokey Ratliff, 61, of Rossville passed away in his home at 9:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2013.

He was born in Sandy Hook, KY to the late Hagger and Anna (Smith) Ratliff on June 8, 1952. He graduated from high school in Fairborn, OH. He served in the US Army at Ft. Knox, KY.

Smokey married Deborah A. Robinson on June 20, 1992 in Sandy Hook, KY.

He retired from Wabash National in Lafayette.

Smokey enjoyed gardening, cooking, working in the yard, playing the guitar, listening to Blue Grass music and he loved spending time with his family and pets.

Along with his wife, he is survived by a son, Jason Ratliff of Seattle, WA, daughters: Lesa Lovell (husb: Matt) and Emily Wright of Greenville, SC and Stephanie Ratliff of FL; step-son, Larry M. Shaw II, of Lafayette, IN; sisters: Charlene and Darlene Ratliff of Fairborn, OH, and brothers: Rommie Ratliff of Carrollton, GA and Junior Ray Ratliff of Dayton, OH; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Along with his parents, he was preceded by a brother, Bill and sister, Lorene.

Viewing will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wed., June 12, 2013 at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi and services will follow in Fairborn, OH at Morris & Sons Funeral Home on Friday, June 14, 2013 at noon with calling one hour prior. Burial will be in Bryan Cemetery at Fairborn, OH.
