Robert W. Hodson

Robert W. "Bob" Hodson, 88, of Lafayette, passed away at 5:12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Creasy Springs Health Campus surrounded by his family. Born September 18, 1925 in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Willacy Morgan and Vivian (Brown) Hodson Fetty. He was a 1943 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a 1950 graduate of Purdue University in the School of Pharmacy.

After graduation he worked at Schaff Drug Store for 13 years, then he owned Hodson's Pharmacy at 23rd and South Streets, following that he worked at Hooks Drugs at 5th and Union Streets for 13 years and St. Elizabeth Hospital in the pharmacy for 14 years, retiring in 1991. After retiring he worked as a supply pharmacist in the area.

Bob was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, American Legion Post #11, Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Rho Chi Honorary Sorority of Alpha Zeta Chapter, and Phi Lambda Upsilon Fraternity. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and card games, especially Cribbage.

His marriage was to Marian Buntin on August 9, 1953 in Lafayette and she survives. Surviving with his wife is a son, Bruce A. Hodson (wife, Katina) of Attica a daughter, Beth Ann Hodson of Lafayette, a brother, Harold H. Hodson (wife, Sharon) of Franklin, KY, and a granddaughter, Tawna L. Hodson of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark R. Hodson in 2003, and a daughter-in-law, Deanell Hodson in 2004, two brothers, Dean and Richard Hodson, and a sister, Kay Beatty.

Visitation Tuesday, May 27, 2014, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Bethany Presbyterian Church with Pastor Kevin Bowers officiating. Burial to follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church or donor's favorite charity.
