Chad Kiefer Obituary
Chad E. Kiefer, 38, of West Lafayette, died Monday, January 19, 2015, in Ironwood, MI, as the result of a snowmobile accident. He was born September 20, 1976, in West Lafayette, IN, to Cliff Kiefer & the late Mary (Haughn). He was a 1995 Graduate of Benton Central High School. He married Barbara J. "Bobbie" (Beckett) Kiefer, February 20, 1999, in Williamsport, IN. Bobbie was his Love, Best Friend & Partner; if it was after 5 PM you almost NEVER seen them apart.
Chad was a Union Operator for 19 years. He currently owned & operated C&S Excavating, with his long time friend, Shane O'Malley. He has previously worked at C&C Excavating & R&W Contracting, where Doug Rogers & John Wieldbaker gave Chad the passion & mentored him to be the worker that he was.
Chad Loved to WORK. Everyone that knew him would say that if he wasn't working he was talking about work. His love for what he did was so great; he always said that it was like being a kid everyday & playing in your own big sandbox. Chad loved to be with his friends & he was always the first to host football & NASCAR parties just to cook a hog or fry up some alligator meat. But, most of all, Chad LOVED his Family; from traveling to sporting events with Peyton, to grooming the horse arena for Katie, to wrestling every night with his G-Man, to giving "Hugs & Tisses" to his Miss Khloe, then his side Kick, Miss Maddie, his "Noodle," who wanted to grow up & work with Dad.
Surviving with his wife, Bobbie, are his 5 Children, Peyton, Katlin, Maddie, Khloe & Garrett "G-Man" Kiefer, Sister, Jill (Husband, Cory) Ferguson, Bloomington, 2 Brothers, Adam (Wife, Sarah) Kiefer, West Lafayette & Stanley Kiefer, Pine Village, Father, Cliff Kiefer (Friend, Heather), West Lafayette, Father-in-Law & Mother-in-Law, Bob & Debbie Beckett, Williamsport, Brother-in-Law, Rob (Wife, Holli) Beckett, Williamsport, Nieces & Nephews, Ainsley & Wren Ferguson & Lizzy & Zeke Beckett & so many other dear Friends & Family. He is preceded in death by his Mother, Mary Kiefer, Maternal Grandparents, Lester & Mabel Kiefer & Paternal Grandparents, Lawrence & Mabel Haughn.
Visitation, to Celebrate Chad's Life, will be, Sunday, January 25, 2015, from 3-8 PM, at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 405 E. Oxford St., Otterbein, IN. Funeral Celebration will be, at 11 AM, Monday, January 26, 2015, at the church, with Bob Fish, Father Robert Klemme & John Randall officiating. Burial will be at Montmorenci Cemetery. Casual Attire is requested. In lieu of flowers, memorial Contributions may be made to Barbara J. Kiefer, for a fund being set up, at the Farmers & Merchants Bank, for Chad's children. Casual Attire is requested. Shoemaker Funeral Home, Otterbein.

I had the pleasure and honor of being one of Chad's teachers. He was a fantastic young man and such a hard-worker. They say you should not have favorites...they obviously never had Chad as a student. The world lost a very special person and his family a great husband and father.
