GOLDSBORO | Betty Lou Shepard Ford, 64, of Goldsboro died March 24, 2015, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 27 at Turkey Creek Cemetery, Sneads Ferry. Survivors include her son, Mike Davenport of Goldsboro; daughter, Wanda Davis of Durham; brothers, Harold Shepard of Mebane, Mack Shepard Jr. of Florida; sisters, Deannie Daugherty of Jacksonville, Doris Hobbs of Holly Ridge, Ann Hansley of Sneads Ferry, Linda Boyd of Florida; and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at 3348 Wilmington Hwy. in Jacksonville. Condolences may be left at Arrangements by Howell Funeral Home, Goldsboro.

Fountain, Earl  
CHINQUAPIN | Lois "Earl" Fountain passed to be home with his Lord Sunday, March 22, 2015. Survivors are: wife, Joyce Shepard Fountain; sons, Travis and wife Lisa of Aiken, SC, Myron and wife Ginny of Raleigh, and Curtis of Chinquapin; grandson, Brandon and wife Jessica of Birmingham, AL; and great-grandchildren, Micah and Eliana. Survivors also include brothers, Marvin and Edward. Earl was predeceased by parents, Oliver and Margie Fountain; and sisters, Thelma Fountain Jones, Velma Fountain Brown and Frances Fountain Fountain. Earl was a proud life-long farmer. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. By peers, he was voted Onslow Co. Master Farmer in 1989. He was a member of Muddy Creek Primitive Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Muddy Creek Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Curtis Fountain 3284 Catherine Lake Road, Chinquapin, NC 28521. Memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28 at Muddy Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Chinquapin. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Fulp, Steven  
Jonesville | Steven Cola Fulp, 74, of Jonesville, NC , died on March 13, 2015, at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem . Born in Jacksonville, NC to Cola and Miriam Fulp, he lived most of his life there. Steve graduated in 1959 from Jacksonville High School, where he was a member of the golf team. After high school, he attended East Carolina University, where he also was a member of the golf team. Steve became an accomplished golfer and won many golf tournaments. To name a few, he won the Jacksonville Club Championship in 1967, 1968, 1969, and 1978. Steve was passionate about cars and was employed, and later owned the Fulp Motor Company in Jacksonville . Steve enjoyed life and loved to visit with people. He was very compassionate and was always willing to help others. His larger than life smile and warm personality was contagious. He was most proud of his two daughters and his three beautiful granddaughters, and was very involved in their lives. Steve is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl Fulp Newman of Bangkok, Thailand, and Jennifer Fulp Fulford of Winston-Salem, NC; their husbands, Raymond Perry Newman, Jr. and Robert Beardsley Fulford, Jr.; and granddaughters, Perry Elizabeth Newman, Ellis Rae Newman, and Fleming Leigh Fulford. He is also survived by his sister, Cynthia Fulp Tenney, and brothers, Gordon and David Fulp. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 12:00-1:00pm, and following will be Steve's Celebration of Life at Antioch Methodist Church in Roaring Gap, NC. Memorial donations may be made in Steve's memory to Antioch Methodist Church , PO Box 159, State Road , NC 28676.
