Mallard, Isabelle  
NEW BERN | Isabelle Anna Sowinski Mallard passed into eternal glory peacefully at the Homeplace of New Bern on Thursday, June 23, 2016. Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 5, 1925, she was 91 years old. She is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Mallard Guy of New Bern, NC; her cherished sister, Evelyn Sowinski Baker of Richmond, CA; her devoted grandchildren, Alexander Duke Guy, III, of Greenville, SC and his daughter, Riley Lynn Guy, of Tampa, FL; her granddaughter, Mallary Guy DeChirico (Brian) and their two sons, Banks Ellington DeChirico and Bowman Ellis Duke DeChirico all of Savannah, GA; her sister-in-law, Elsie Sowinski of Lindenhurst, NY, and many dear nieces and nephews. Isabelle was preceded in death by the love of her life, William "Bill" Wardell Mallard, Jr., Bill's parents, Nettie and Wardell Mallard, Sr.; of Pollocksville, NC, her parents, Alex and Anna Sowinski; her brothers, Arthur (Rose) and Reginald Sowinski, all of NY. She was a devout Catholic who will always be remembered for her deep faith, her loyalty to her family and friends, her eternal optimism, and wonderful sense of humor. Visitation is Sunday, June 26 from 6-8 p.m. at Pollock Best Funeral Home, Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC. Burial is at Friendship Baptist Church, Trenton, NC at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June, 27. A memorial funeral Mass will be immediately following the burial at OLD St. Paul's Catholic Church, 510 Middle Street, New Bern NC at 11:30 a.m. You have "Gone to Glory," and will forever be loved and missed. Rest in peace our dear, sweet Izzie.

SWANSBORO | Wesley Crawford Pearce, 71, passed away Thursday June 23, 2016 at his residence. He was born June 6, 1945 in Onslow County son of the late, Perry James and Rebecca Ann Peirce Pearce. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday June 28, 2016 in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro. Burial will follow with Military Honors at 12:00 PM at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Monday June 27, 2016 at the funeral home. Wesley proudly served his country in the US Navy from which he retired at the rank of Chief. Wesley is survived by daughter, Rebecca Collins (Eric) of Swansboro; sons, Shon Pearce of Swansboro, and Rev. Jason Pearce (Sara) of Maysville; seven grandchildren, Heidi Pearce, Odin Bright, Corey Phillips, Scotty Smith, Caroline Pearce, Tucker Pearce, and Chance Pearce; and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Margaret Spencer, Ruth Hazelwood, and Carolyn Campbell all of Swansboro; and brother, James Peirce of Swansboro.
