Archie Edward Prince Sr., 82, of Jacksonville, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Onslow Memorial Park with the Rev. Eric Jones officiating.
Prince was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952. He retired from the Camp Lejeune Dependents Schools system in 1990. He loved his country music and played guitar since the age of 8.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Skeeter Prince and daughter, Rose Prince.
Survivors include his fiancée, Roswitha Whaley; daughter, Sheril Prince and her fiancé, Dennis Meyer of Jacksonville; son, Archie E. Prince Jr. and his wife, LuAnne of Maysville; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel.
