Evelyn Bryan Selph, 88, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at Quinn Hospice Care Center.
Born on August 2, 1925 in Onslow County, she was a daughter of the late Thurman and Rannie Mercer Bryan. Evelyn retired from Civil Service at Camp Lejeune in 1984. She loved working in her yard, cooking and most of all enjoying time with her family. Her day always was brightened when her nieces and nephews visited.
Surviving are her sister, Dot Batchelor of Wilmington; brother, Dick Bryan of Sneads Ferry; and 23 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Selph; brothers, John George Bryan, Herbert Bryan, Charles L. Bryan, Ervin Bryan, Mac Bryan and Douglas Bryan; and sister, Ethel Bryan Rawls.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 30, 2013, from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at Jones Funeral Home, 137 Ervintown Road, Richlands, N.C. Funeral services will be at 12 noon at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Volney Bryan officiating. Interment will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.
