George Pearson

SNEADS FERRY - George E. Pearson died at home surrounded by loved ones on March 25, 2013.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at the First Presbyterian Church, Sneads Ferry with Pastor Bill Young officiating.

George was born in Homeville Mifflin Township, Pa., on June 25, 1939, to the late George Henry and Dorothy Elizabeth Pearson. He graduated from McKeesport High School in 1957, and then earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.

George started a lifelong career with DuPont in 1962, and worked in Martinsville, Va., as well as Wilmington and Seaford, Del. In 1994, George retired to Sneads Ferry, with his first wife Linda, who preceded him in death.

In 2004, George married Nancy Drake, his best friend and devoted wife, together to the end. George loved the game of golf and his golfing buddies. If you met George, you had to love him! George loved his family, his church, and his friends.

George is survived by his wife, Nancy; stepdaughters, Stephanie Drake, and Rene Stalls and her husband Linwood; stepson, Gene Edens; two grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Isabella Thompson and Dorothy Harris; his four children, Lynn McCleneghan and her husband Scott, Karen Preis and her husband Jim, Joy Teston and her husband Matthew, and George Pearson and his wife Amy; ten grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to their favorite charity.
