Joseph Swader

MGySgt ret. Joseph "Bill" W. Swader, 70, of Cape Carteret, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at his home with family.

A funeral will be held at noon Saturday, May 4 at Freedom Way Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Rudolph Outlaw officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Bill retired from the USMC after 30 years of service, which included two tours in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Becky Sanders Swader of the home; a son, Todd Riggs and wife Kelly Lynch of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Fred Swader of Louisburg, Pa.; two sisters, Dawn Martz of Tallahasee, Fla., and Jean Magaes of Ithaca, N.Y.; and a very special friend, Victor Reynolds.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
