SWANSBORO - Julie Parrish, 55, of Swansboro, passed peacefully in her sleep after an extended illness on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at Swansboro United Methodist Church with Dr. Ed Gunter officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Clayton.

Mrs. Parrish was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a retired nurse from Carteret General Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lenora Priebe Ulmer.

Survivors include her husband, Ed Parrish of the home; her father, Benjamin Ulmer of Missoula, Mont.; one sister, Bonnie Lea of Louisville, Ky.; one brother, Paul Ulmer of Reno, Nev.; two nieces, Monica Lea Gordon and Paige Ulmer; and two nephews, Eric Lea and Luke Ulmer.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Jones Funeral Home, Swansboro Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Swansboro United Methodist Church, to be utilized for a Julie Parrish Memorial Nursing Scholarship, 665 W. Corbett Avenue, Swansboro, N.C. 28584.
