Justin Dale Sheets, 34, of Morehead City ascended to heaven early Wednesday morning, Oct. 30, 2013, after an unexpected illness. The staff at Vidant Medical Center - ICU should be commended for going over and beyond all measures to extend the life of Justin.
Justin was a beloved son, brother and father and will be remembered by his kindness and genuine love for others. All that crossed his path will never forget his irresistible smile, charm and charisma. Justin truly had a way with others that made him unforgettable and considered "One in a Million."
He was born on Sept. 4, 1979, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, a son to the late Herbert Wray Sheets (Aug. 5, 2012) and mother Kathy Gail Sheets of Morehead City.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 for friends and family at Gethsemane Memorial Park located at the corner of N.C. State Highway 24 and McCabe Road nearest to Morehead City. Family and close friends will be received at his home following the service.
Justin graduated from Croatan High School in Newport, and further his education in the veterinary field to become a Veterinary Technician. He will be remembered for his genuine love and rescue of animals. His most recent was his favorite pet, a kitten named Bentley.
Justin enjoyed all sports and was an avid golfer and fisherman.
He is survived by his mother, Kathy Gail Sheets of NC-DOT/ Ferry Division; two brothers, Nicholas Wray Sheets and Patrick Anthony Sheets. He has one son, Jordan Wray Sheets of Swansboro. He is survived by Uncle Tony Jay Sheets, Aunt Pamela Sheets with two children, Janna Sheets and Jay Sheets. He is survived by grandfather, Walter Lowe; grandmother, Kay Lowe, Uncle John Lowe and Aunt Karen Nicholson of Jacksonville and husband Steven Nicholson of Jacksonville.
Justin dearly loved his Aunt Karen and Aunt Pam.
The family would like to thank the staff of Vidant Medical Center for the loving care shown during Justin's sickness.
