Mary Finley

March 9, 1950 - March 4, 2014

Mary Finley the beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, surrounded by her family following a long battle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband Clyde B. Finley of 45 years; son, Jerry Finley (Jennifer Etscheidt); daughter, Kimberly A. Young (Shannon Young); and grandchildren, Houston and Shayne.

Mary Finley was born in Michigan to parents William and Susie Fausz who preceded her along with her brother, Donald E. Fausz. Her surviving siblings, Vickie Lavin (Ray Wilson) of Jacksonville, Jane Darany (Ted) of California, W.J. Fausz of Michigan; and sister-in-law, Beverly Bentley (Ken) of Michigan along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary served as a civil service employee of Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune with over 35 years of dedicated service. She was a pillar of the community molding many young minds and touching hearts while volunteering as a coach for several youth activities for over 25 years. She is best known as "Coach Mary." She also participated as a player herself prior to coaching.

Family will be receiving visitors at the home of Jerry Finley located at 5003 West Red Oak Ct., Jacksonville, NC 28546. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 6 at Jones Funeral Home located in Jacksonville. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 7 with the Rev. Tony Hardin at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville.
