Pamela Bush

March 28, 1953 to May 13, 2013

Pamela Jane Bush, 60, of Swansboro, passed away May 13, 2013, after a four-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born March 28, 1953, in Buffalo, N.Y., to Leonard and Jane Notaro. She grew up in an Air Force family, living in numerous locations until she met the love of her life, Bob Bush, more than 46 years ago at a military officers' club on Westover Air Force Base, Massachusetts. They have been side-by-side ever since. She graduated Ursline Academy High School in 1971, and North Adams State College in 1974, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. Pam became an elementary school teacher in Jacksonville, until her daughters were born and her passion became raising her girls and caring for her family.

Pam loved the outdoors and all animals. Her hobbies included snow skiing, scuba diving, horseback riding cooking and of course being a soccer mom.

She is survived by her father, Leonard Notaro, his wife Joyce Notaro; her husband, Bob Bush; her daughters, Jennifer Dickerson and Katherine Smith; her grandchildren, Tyler and Emmalyn Dickerson, and Callie and Ava Smith; and her sisters-in-law, Sharon Goodhart and Pamela Rivest.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at the First Baptist Church of Swansboro. A viewing session will begin one hour prior at 12 p.m. Pam wished her memorial to be a celebration of her life, therefore we encourage bright, spring colors be worn at the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at to continue to help find a cure.

Laugh. Live. Love.
