Richard J. Walsh

Richard J. Walsh, 62, entered into rest on March 22, 2013.

Born July 31, 1950, to the late Richard and Gertrude Walsh in Wareham, Mass. Brother to the late Mary Theresa Rodgers, Janet C. Taeger and Maureen L. Sweerus.

Rich is survived by his brother-in-law, Louis Rodgers of West Richlands, Wash., and his nine nieces and nephews Mary Lou Beaumont of Covina, Calif., Johan Curtiss of West Richlands, Wash., Robert Rodgers of Madison, Ala., Lynn Snodgrass of Beaumont, Calif., Cheryl Shreckengost of Parker, Ariz., Bridgette Iris of Hubert, Joseph Messina Jr. of Merrimack, N.H., Rebecca Johnson of Plymouth, Mass., and Dorothy Andersen of Sandwich, Mass. Papa to Tyler and Kayla of Rockland, Mass.

Rich graduated from Wareham High School, Class of 1968, and was a graduate of Bridgewater State University.

Rich was an employee of New England Telephone Company until the Divestiture of the Bell System in 1984, when he subsequently became an employee of AT&T. He served in various capacities but will most notably be remembered as a Communications Systems Consultant, managing the communications of many large corporate clients. After returning to Nynex , Rich retired to begin a career as Vice President of Communications with Rockland Trust Company in Rockland, Mass. He also served as a Regional District Manager with Market Source among other start up communication companies. Rich was a loyal friend and will be missed by many of his co-workers.

Services in North Carolina will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 12 at Saint Peter's By The Sea, located at 503 West Broad Street, Swansboro, NC 28584.

Services in Massachusetts will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26 at Saint Patrick's located at 82 High Street, Wareham, Mass. 02571.
