JACKSONVILLE – Richard James Lechette, 78, of Jacksonville, formerly of Upper Darby, Pa., died, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at his home.
A mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 12 at Infant of Prague Catholic Church. Interment will take place at 11 a.m. July 6 at Westminster Cemetery, 701 Belmont Avenue, Bala Cynwyd, Pa., 19004.
He served during the Korean War, in the United States Navy. He retired from Septa Red Arrow Division after 32 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gabriel and Elizabeth Lechette; daughter, Florence "Beth" Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lechette of the home; sons, Richard Lechette (Joan) of Drexel Hill, Pa., Andrew Lechette (Susan) of Claymont, Del., Thomas Lechette (Angel) of Lansdowne, Pa., Joseph Lechette (Jessica) of Nottingham, Pa., and Michael Lechette (Cynthia) of Jacksonville; daughters, Lynda Lechette and significant other, Michael Perna of Havertown, Pa., Dakota Lechette of the home, and Anna Lechette of the home; 22 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Lechette of Fort Meyers, Fla., and John Lechette of Rapid City, S.D.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home.
