Saundra Griffin Butler Drew, 59, of Jacksonville, went to be with her Lord May 16, 2013 at Carolina East Hospice Care Center in Kenansville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel. Burial will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Saundra was born January 19, 1954 in Jacksonville to the late Joe and Peggy Griffin.
She is survived by her loving husband Rev. Leonard Drew; two loving sons, Dennis (Heather) Butler and David (Terri) Butler of Jacksonville; two brothers and two sisters, Bobby Griffin of Texas, Kathy Jo Griffin West of Verona, Judy Griffin of Benson and Charles (Andrea) Griffin of Jacksonville; three step children Derek Drew of Jacksonville, Terisa Drew Thibault of Crete, Ill. and Vanessa Drew of Raleigh; nine special grandchildren, Britanny Butler, David Butler, Joshua Drew and Schifra Drew, Ian Vanhorn, Quentan Howe, Nick Thibault, Lexie Thibault and Rusty Mullen; two Aunts, Leola Harper of Pinetops and Ann Wilson of Rocky Mount; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at Carolina East Hospice Care Center for the care and kindness shown to both Saundra and her family during her stay. Also thanks to Community Hospice of Kinston.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon prior to the service from 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
