Clarence Boney Obituary

Clarence "Ikey" Boney of Hubert passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home of Jacksonville with Rev. Jim Pearson and Rev. Rachel Moser officiating. Burial will follow with military honors and Masonic Rites at the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

Mr. Boney retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years and four days of service. He was a member of Semper Fidelis Lodge #680. A.F. & A.M. and a Scottish Rite Mason. He was also a member of Queens Creek United Methodist Church and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Una Hewitt Boney of Hubert; granddaughter, Jordan E. Boney and significant other, Michael Reynolds of Hubert; great grandson, Michael Carlton Reynolds of Hubert; niece, Sharon Ray of Fuquay-Varina; nephew, Scott Turner and wife, Wendy of Greensboro; four sisters-in-law, Ella Mae Pittman of Hubert, Judy Golda of Hubert, Nancy L. Hewitt of Hubert and Kay Hewitt of S.C.; two brothers-in-law, Pete Hewitt of Huntsville, Ala. and Dale Hewitt of Hubert.

He is preceded in death by his son, Carlton Eugene Boney and sister, Helen G. Turner.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home of Jacksonville. Donations may be made to the Queens Creek United Methodist Church or to the Oxford Orphanage.
