Dorothy Fulcher Slaninka, 80, of Jacksonville, died April 29, 2013, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington.
Mrs. Slaninka, owned and operated with her first husband, Joseph Willis Fulcher, the Country Girl Drive Inn. She also owned and operated Melton Rentals, and attended New River Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 1 at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville, with the Rev. Roland Penny officiating. Burial will follow at Fulcher Family Cemetery, Sneads Ferry.
Mrs. Slaninka was survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Fulcher Adams and husband, Kenneth of Jacksonville; brothers, James Earl Melton and wife Pam, and Clarence Ray Melton and wife, Cathy, all of Richlands and Haywood Melton of Jacksonville; sister, Kathleen Batchelor of Richlands; and one grandchild, Joseph Lynn Fulcher Adams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Joseph Slaninka.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Tuesday, April 30 at the funeral home.
