Obituary

GREENVILLE - Joshua Nathanial Nelson, 22, of Greenville, died Sept. 16, 2012, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in the Zabul province in Afghanistan.

Celebration of life service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville with viewing held two hours prior to the service. Burial held at noon Thursday at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

He was a specialist in the U.S. Army assigned to 297th Military Intelligence Battalion in Fort Gordon, Ga. He has been awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the NATO Medal.

Survivors include his wife, Quamisha E.C. Nelson; mother, Kathy Glover; father, Brian Nelson Sr.; brother, Brian Nelson Jr.; and sister, Victoria Nelson.
