Joyce Fischer Bowen, age 77, of Jacksonville, died Nov. 15, 2012, at Onslow Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Onslow Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Mrs. Bowen is survived by six daughters, Katherine Forsyth of Danville, Ill., Denise Beaman of Jacksonville, Teresa Fischer of Winfield, W.Va., Melba Hamilton of Dacula, Ga., Laura Baker of Jacksonville, and Betty Fritschi of Lockport, N.Y.; one brother, Jim Peed of Heathsville, Va.; two sisters, Melba Styons of Plymouth and Mary Frances Liegeot, of Stuart, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, Heather Falasco, Sharma Schneider, Eric Forsyth, Cathy Coats, Emily Brothers, William Hough, Erin Wilson, Amanda Fisher, Rachel Hough, Todd Baker, Devin Tyson, Elaine Baker; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Wilson Peed and Ruby Kate Askew Peed; her brother, Thomas Peed; and her husband, Arnold Bowen.

Mrs. Bowen was current treasurer for the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fleet Reserve Association where she has served as a member for many years, she also served many years as a volunteer with the American Red Cross.
