Mrs. Margaret Lewis Ross, 89, wife of the late William Louis Ross Jr., and a resident of Onancock, Va., passed away at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, Va., on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013.
Born Dec. 12, 1923, in Keyport, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Edward Thomas Lewis and Della Jones Lewis.
Mrs. Ross was a member of Greenbush United Methodist Church. While living in Virginia Beach, Va., she was active in school and community affairs, and was also a substitute teacher. She was a former member of the Huguenot Garden Club, and Chesterfield County Extension Home Council in Richmond, Va. After residing in Charlotte, Mr. and Mrs. Ross returned to the Eastern Shore of Virginia, making their home in Onancock, Va.
Survivors include her son, William Louis Ross III, and his wife Toni, of Jacksonville; one granddaughter, Kelly Davis, and her husband Dr. Corey Davis; two great-granddaughters, Lucy Kathleen-Margaret Davis and Maya Audrey-Jean Davis; a great-grandson, Zeb Ross-William Davis, all of Whitewater, Wis.; and a step-granddaughter, Molly Milligan of Raleigh.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Edward T. Lewis Jr. and William Thomas Lewis; and a sister, Marie Martin.
Graveside services will be held at the Edge Hill Cemetery in Accomac, Va., at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 with the Rev. Charles W. Parks III officiating.
