Myron Mooney Angell passed away on Nov. 10, 2013, at the Alzheimer Related Care Home at the age 74. Born in Mocksville, Myron spent most of his adult life in Swansboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tilden Angell and Mildred Mooney Angell; and a brother, Marshall. Also, a special aunt, Ruth Cochran, whom he provided care for until his own health declined.
He is survived by four brothers and their wives, Madison (Elsie), Michael (Leuna), David (Geraldine), and Marcus (Brenda) and several nieces and nephews, all of Mocksville. He also leaves good friends, the Burns and Maxwell families in Hubert.
From 1962-1965, Myron served with the Army Security Agency overseas in England. Myron graduated from Davie High School and East Carolina University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education and Education Administration, and advanced certifications in Science Education. Myron taught at Swansboro High Scholl as a science teacher from 1969 – 1993.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Mocksville. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation (alzfdn.org) in lieu of flowers.
