Obituary

NEWPORT - Roland Viverette Gamble, 89, of Newport, died April 17, 2013, at Carteret General Hosptial.

Graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21 at Knightdale United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked at N.C. State Board of Education and owned and managed Gamble's Motel, Atlantic Beach.

Survivors include his wife, Faye C. Gamble; sons, Michael Glosson of Newport and Chris Glosson of Liberty Township, Ohio; daughter, Tina Glosson Bachar of Midlothian, Va.; and nine grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Brooks Funeral Home, Morehead City and from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, Knightdale.
