Vertie Mae Williams Davis, 85, of Beulaville, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville.
She was a member of the Jehovah Witness of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Howard Davis; and daughters, Annette Canady, Carol Brown.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, Richlands. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be at the Pickett-Williams Cemetery at 11 a.m. Thursday.
She is survived by a son, William Pickett Kennedy and wife Rhonda Jarman of Jacksonville; daughters, Jeannette Kennedy of Richlands, Diana Gwynn and husband Leonard of Richlands, Bonnie Willaford White and husband George P. of Richlands, Sharon Edwards and husband Eugene of Richlands; brother, Allen Williams of Wallace; sisters, Mary Bradley of Greenville, Tritt Cole of Beulaville, Julia Dean Quinn of Kinston, Jennie Taylor of Goldsboro; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
