There will be a private service in Boston.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy as a signalman, both in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. He then worked as a conductor/brakeman for the Boston & Main Railroad for 40 years. He was the designer of the first New England (Boston) Patriots uniform in 1960.
Survivors include son, Alan Pingree of White Lake; daughters, Lynn Foster of Milford, Conn., and Cindy Dever of Boston; sister, Arlene Cook of Alabama; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are by Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
