Jacksonville -- David W. Pierce of Severn, Md., passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was 67 years old.

David was born to Betty Jean and Raleigh Pierce on June 13, 1946, in Pound, Va. On Dec. 29, 1971, David married Linda Kazee. They were married for 30 years and had three children.
David worked as an International Health and Safety Director for General Motors for 30 years and was a member of the United Auto Workers, local 239. David enlisted in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with Boumi Temple in Baltimore, Md.
David is survived by his three children, Timothy Pierce of New Freedom, Pa., Brian Pierce of Severn, Md., and Amanda Pierce of Ephrata, Pa.; three grandchildren, Savanna Caldwell, Delaney Pierce and Grayson Cresswell; sisters Patricia Jackson and Deborah Goines, both of Jacksonville.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 5th at Jones Funeral Home in Jacksonville. A Christian burial with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 6th at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Flynn officiating. Internment will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.
