Kathleen Morris Gillette, age 90, of Stella, went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 5th, 2014. She was preceded by her parents, Jasper and Zana Elizabeth Morris; and brother, Theodore Earl Morris.

Survivors are her husband of 70 years, John Milton Gillette; daughter, Zana Kaye Carraway; son, James Milton Gillette and daughter-in-law, Kay Bynum Gillette, all of Stella. She had four grandchildren, Stephanie Lane, Blair Gillette (Tawnda), Kim Hatsell (John), Jay Carraway (Christy). Seven great-grandchildren, Hunter and Kayla Lane, Garrett and Wyatt Hatsell, Tyler and Camden Gillette, and Brooke Carraway.
She was a very active member of the Midway United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women for over 50 years. She was a member of the church choir for many years. She loved nature and the outdoors and especially selling her produce. She was known by her grandchildren and friends as the "The Grape Lady."
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 7th at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8th at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville with the Rev. Thomas Nichols Sr. officiating. Burial at Onslow Memorial Park, Jacksonville immediately following the service.
