Edward Sherwood, 73, of Jacksonville, died March 27, 2013, at his home.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at Onslow Memorial Park.

Mr. Sherwood was a retired gunnery sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Viet Nam. He was a member of the FRA, the DAV, the American Legion and retired from the Half Moon Vol. Fire Dept.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Susan Eve Sherwood, Mary Owens Sherwood, and Betsy Sherwood; his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Weir Sherwood; and a brother, Joseph.

He is survived by his daughter, Keiko Palmero "Kay Sherwood" of Gulfport, Miss.; a stepson, David Ledbetter and his wife Tonya of Richlands; a brother, Irvin Sherwood of Vero Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren, Andria Mignon Palmero and Michael Edward Palmero; and two great-grandchildren, Andrianna Eliose Palmero and Abrielle Mignon Palmero.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville.
