Frank (Francis) D. McFall Jr., age 69, died on April 16, 2013.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathleen T. McFall (Gleisner), father of Frankie (Francis) McFall III, the late Michael McFall, grandfather of two, son of the late Francis D. Sr. and Mary G., his sisters, Mary (Joanne) Shannon, Susan Snyder (William), Caroline James, and brothers, the late Richard McFall (Elizabeth), Michael McFall (Anne), and James McFall (Jacqueline); and two grandchildren, Bertelia and Alexandra.
Frank was a resident of Jacksonville. He worked for over 35 years at the Marine Corps Air Station, New River, retiring in 2003. He served in the United States Marine Corps between 1962 and 1966 and was a 1965 Vietnam veteran and was assigned to the Helicopter Squadron HMM 262. Prior to his enlistment, he and his brothers and sisters lived in Camp Lejeune Base Housing, Tarawa Terrace I and II. His father, Francis D. McFall Jr. served for 30 years in the Marine Corps and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1960.
Upon leaving Camp Lejeune, Frank and the family moved back to Philadelphia in the East Falls section of the city. He attended St. Bridget Roman Catholic Grade School and St. Thomas Moore High School, class of 1961.
Frank's family and especially his brother, Michael wish to acknowledge the kind and loving care that his neighbor, Mary Fisher, gave him during his illness. In addition, the family wishes to acknowledge all of the medical personnel from Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, Wilmington, for their care of Frank.
