Annie Baggett

Annie Mae Whaley Baggett, 88, of Richlands, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 12, 2014.
Born in Duplin County, on Dec. 18, 1925, Annie was a long time resident of Onslow County. Possessing a true servant's heart, Annie faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking/baking from scratch, sewing and crafting. Of all of her accomplishments, Annie's greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family and friends. She had a unique gift to recognize and appreciate the talents in others and make them feel loved and lifted by her presence. Her generous heart filled her home with love, fun, family and friends, including an attitude that there was always room for one more, She leaves all her children and grandchildren with the knowledge that they were truly loved and they know that she loved the Lord.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Leon James Whaley and Retha Francis Holmes Williams; her loving husband of 46 years, Julius March (Tobie) Baggett; son, James Gordon Baggett; daughters, Nancy Baggett Taylor, Patricia Jean Baggett; granddaughter, Victoria Lexus Taylor; brother, Johnny (Bud) Williams; and sister, Elizabeth (Libby) Valdize.
Surviving members of family include, mother of three children and partners, Ellis and Pat Baggett, Judy and Gary Cox and Jayne and James Williams; grandmother to eight, Jeffery and Glynnis Wilkins, Wendie and James Ogle, Michael and Tasha Williams, Lesa Williams Cole, Sharon and Frank Cupsta, Michael Taylor, James and Jamie Baggett, Shirley Baggett; great-grandmother to nine, Alyssa and Brittney Wilkins, Cody Ogle, Kaden Williams, Devin and Michelle Keller, Presley Cole, Dene Cupsta, Caden and Kylie Taylor; great-great-grandmother to two, Eric Davis and Kaileeah Keller; sister to Carl Williams and Edna Sutton; devoted caregivers, Brenda Jackson and Tammy Williams; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15 at Johnson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. The Rev. Fred Tapper will preside at Annie's funeral at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday April 16 at Johnson Funeral Home, with burial following at the Coastal Carolina Veterans Cemetery.
