Ruby Weaver

Mrs. Ruby McCoy Weaver of West Jefferson died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at the home of Margaret, Elbert and Anthony Graybeal. She was 92.

Mrs. Weaver was born July 28, 1921, in Creston to James Quincy and Mary Pennington McCoy.

Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Benjamin Weaver; three brothers, Ray McCoy, Hugh McCoy and J. D. McCoy; and one sister, Gail Price.

Mrs. Weaver was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved to crochet and spend time with family and friends.

Mrs. Weaver is survived by one daughter, Margaret Graybeal and husband Elbert of West Jefferson; three sisters, Esther Taylor of West Jefferson, JoAnn Owens of Creston and Myrtle Porter of Ohio; three grandchildren, Jerry Graybeal, Tricia Caudel and Anthony Graybeal; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Kirby McNeill and Rev. Steve Goss. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at Badger Funeral Home.
