Robert Brown

Mr. Robert Lee Brown, originally of Ashe County, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 4, 2014. He was 81.

Robert will be remembered for his love of God, his integrity, sweet spirit, kindness, patience, love of family and quick sense of humor.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gore Brown; his mother and father, Martha and Estele Brown; brothers Lida, Howard, Roy and Guy; sisters, Cora and Edith. Ms. Fannie Huffman of West Jefferson is his only surviving sibling.

He is survived by his children: sons, Bob and wife Carol of Greeneville, Tennessee, Tim and wife Jennifer of Jefferson and Matthew of Jefferson; daughters, Sandy Lawrence and husband Nick of Millers Creek and Andrea Cook and husband Glenn of Lebanon, Virginia; stepdaughters, Jennifer Ashley and husband Tim and Lori Seagraves and husband Darrell, both of Crumpler. He is survived by eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Jones officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from noon to 1 p.m. at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and technicians of Fresenius Dialysis Center in Boone for their loving care of their father. They would also like to thank the staff of Glenbridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boone. Robert was treated with respect and dignity.

The family requests no food. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chestnut Hill Cemetery Fund, c/o Robert C. Gambill, 121 Fred Pugh Road, Crumpler, NC 28617.
