Tommy Pruitt

Mr. Tommy Courtlan Pruitt of West Jefferson died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at his home. He was 72.

Mr. Pruitt was born Oct. 24, 1941, in Wilkes County to Arnold Gordon Pruitt and Kathleen Walsh Honeycutt.

Mr. Pruitt was preceded in death by his parents.

Tommy was a member of Obids Baptist Church for several years.

Mr. Pruitt is survived by his wife, Rita Pruitt of West Jefferson; three daughters, Bobba Norman and husband James of Mtn. View, Beth Moore of Moravian Falls and Jennifer Miller and husband Jason of Crumpler; three sons, Bryan Pruitt of Millers Creek, Randall Day and wife Melissa of Horseshoe and William Day and wife Stephanie of Candler; three sisters, Barbara Nichols and husband Carson of Wilkesboro, Wilma Bowlin of Lenoir and Rebecca Honeycutt of Lenoir; three brothers, Johnny Honeycutt and wife Francis and Scotty Honeycutt and wife Cheryl, all of Lenoir and Larry Honeycutt of Kings Creek; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, Obids Baptist Church by Rev. Tom Graybeal, Rev. Jack Pugh and Rev. Mark Harless. Burial will follow in Obids Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at Badger Funeral Home.
