Mr. Aubry Perry of Lansing passed away Sunday morning, May 18, 2014, at Watauga Medical Center. He was 78.
Mr. Perry was born in Ashe County on Sunday, Dec. 22, 1935, to the late Floyd and Hattie Baldwin Perry.
When Aubry was young, he moved to Maryland. He worked as a Foreman at Bata Shoe Manufacturing Company for over 30 years. After that, moved back to Ashe County and worked as a building contractor until retirement. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Phillip Eugene Perry; a grandson, Daniel Pokorny; six sisters, Dorothy Williams, Ola Weaver, Bertie Gilley, Marie Ham, Patsy Blevins and Beryle Ham; and three brothers, Willard Perry, Elbert Perry and Woodrow Perry.
Mr. Perry is survived by his wife, Barbara Baker Perry; a son, Duane Perry, of Lansing; three daughters, Dianna Weaver and husband, Benny, of Jefferson, Cindy Perry, of Creston and Shelby Roark, of Jefferson; two brothers, J.C. Perry, of Aberdeen, Maryland and Billy Joe Perry, of Lansing; four sisters, Roberteen Nicoles, of Lansing, Nell Lewis, of Lansing, Gertie Osborne, of Lansing and Osie Osborne, of Jefferson; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Lyalls, Rev. Larry Shepherd and Minister Danny Miller officiating. Burial followed in the Perry Family Cemetery.
