Edward V. Basta

EDWARD V. BASTA BAYONNE Edward V. Basta, 86, of Bayonne passed away on January 18, 2013 in Florida. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Ed lived in Bayonne for over 60 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran from World War II who served in Europe. Ed was very talented and worked as a tool de-signer and engineer for ADT. He served as Committee Chairman for Bayonne Boy Scout Troop 19, and also was a past member of the O.L. Mt. Carmel Parish Council, as well as being in-volved in other church organiza-tions. The family man, Edward was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Helen (nee: Wojcik) and his son Henry Basta. Surviving are his sons Richard Basta of Caldwell, N.J. and his wife Robyn, and two daughters, Christine Peters of Bayonne and her husband David, and Debra Kocak of Coconut Creek, Fl. Edward had seven grandchil-dren Gwendolyn, Stephanie, Briel, Evan, Erica, Rachel and Kim, and four great grandchil-dren. He is also survived by two sisters Anna Ortolano and Flor-ence Potocek. The Basta family is grateful for the excellent care he received from Dr, Mark Druck and Dr. Joseph Saleeb And their staff, both of Bayonne. Visitation: Tuesday, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: Wednes-day, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Bayonne. Private Cremation will follow.
