Gary L. Walker Gary L. Walker, age 71, passed away peacefully Friday, December 12, 2014, at his home following a courageous battle with heart disease. Born in southern Illinois and a lifelong Channahon resident. Retired from Johns Manville Corporation as a supervisor after over 34 years of service. A member and past president of the Channahon Lions Club, a past Channahon Village trustee serving two terms. A former Rockdale volunteer fire fighter. He was an avid flea market vendor and collector. Preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Survived by two sons, Dwayne Walker and Timothy Walker, both of Channahon; two daughters, Yvonne (Joey) Doyle of Walnut Ridge, AR and Lynette (Russell) Eckert of Joliet; nine grandchildren, Alisha, Kaitlyn, Skyliegh, Brandon, Nicholas, Daniel, Christian, Drew and Austin; one sister, Joann (Michael) Polk of Republic, MO; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services for Gary L. Walker will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet with Pastor Joseph Pospischil officiating. Memorials in his memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice in his name would be appreciated. James E. Welsh Born: Feb. 23, 1925; in Alsey, IL Died: Dec. 12, 2014; in Naperville, IL James E. Welsh, age 89, a resident of Plainfield, IL, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2014, at Edward Hospital, Naperville, surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 23, 1925, in Alsey, Illinois, the eldest child of Chester and Leila Welsh. James is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Arlene E. Welsh (nee Schultz); his devoted sons, Gene (Claudia) Welsh of Lockport and Ron (Lisa) Welsh of Grand Ridge, IL; his cherished grandsons, Phillip (Michelle) Welsh, Raymond (Patrick) Welsh, Randy Welsh; his adored great-granddaughters, Paris and Lilly Welsh; his siblings, Donald (the late Mae) Welsh, Margie (the late James) Howell and Mary Nell (the late Marty) Leet; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Richard Welsh. A lifelong farmer, James enjoyed toiling in the earth and harvesting its bounties. When he wasn't in the fields, he enjoyed caring for his livestock or working at Peterson Manufacturing in Plainfield or Silver Cross Hospital. He loved collecting antique farm machinery and showcasing his many restored tractors at tractor shows throughout the area. For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to the life of James E. Welsh, memorials to the Illinois 4H Foundation, 1401 South Maryland Drive, 106 Taft House, MC-709, Urbana, IL 61801 would be greatly appreciated. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 16, 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 & 59, Plainfield. Wilkey, Robert E.  
Robert E. Wilkey Robert E. Wilkey, age 90, at rest Monday, December 15, 2014, at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center. Born in Dahlgren, Illinois to the late Casey and Edna (nee Darnell) Wilkey, residing in Joliet since 1953. Graduate of Elgin High School and Tufts University of Medford, Massachusetts, graduating Cum Laude. A WWII United States Navy veteran, honorably discharged at the rank of Seaman First Class in 1946. Retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in 1986 following over 30 years of service. Bob loved music, and was an accomplished violinist, participating in several orchestra and chamber groups. He also taught violin and viola in years past. Surviving are his three children, Steven (Nancy) Wilkey of Joliet, Marianne Wilkey of San Diego, CA and Barbara (Tom) Studer of Joliet; four grandchildren, Julie Kruder, Lisa (Jason) Ales, Christopher Studer and Dennis Studer; two great-grandsons, Michael and Marty. Preceded in death by his parents; one son, David; and his former wife, Barbara. Funeral Services for Bob Wilkey will be Monday, December 22, 2014, at 12:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Total Health Ministries, 23 West 525 St. Charles Rd., Wheaton, IL 60188 would be appreciated.
