Shank, Chuck  
Chuck Shank Chuck Shank, age 71, of Plant City, Florida, and formerly of Joliet, entered into eternal rest on December 16, 2014. He was a member of Dover Advent Christian Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and a retired Captain after 30 years of service with the City of Joliet Fire Department. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol Young Shank; children, Joe Shank (Missy) of Coal City, Illinois, and Tony Shank of Polk City, Florida; sister Jean Collins (Bill) of Texas; grandchildren, Ryan (Katie), Tyler, and Jacy Shank; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at Dover Advent Christian Church, 14202 Downing Street, Dover, Florida, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., Interment to follow at Mt. Charlotte G. Sheehan Charlotte G. Sheehan, nee Korthals/O'Connor, age 95, of Plainfield, IL, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Patrick Joseph Sheehan; loving mother of Dennis Patrick (late Joanna) (Donna), Barbara Anne (late Ronald) Miranda, Margaret Mary "Peg" Sheehan, Patricia Jo "Pat" (Maurice) Vanderpot and Joseph Charles "Joe"; dear grandmother of Wendy (Dan) Jordan, Patrick (Birute') Sheehan, Dennis II (Leah) Sheehan), Ronald Robert Miranda, Vincent Paul Miranda, Michael Andrew (Lisa) Miranda, Justin (LuAnn) Vanderpot and Peter (Jill) Vanderpot; dear great-grandmother of eleven; fond sister of Kathleen (late Charles) O'Connor Nemecek, Virginia (Ted) O'Connor Krzus, and the late Mary Ellen (late Carl) Korthals/O'Connor Baker, James J. (late Helen) O'Connor I, John F. (late Venetia) O'Connor and Lawrence (Teri) O'Connor. Mrs. Sheehan was a catechist for two years, a Pastoral and Eucharistic Minister and a Lector at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, a member of American Legion Auxiliary Commodore Barry Post #256, a member of a Small Community Group and she loved to cook, bake and read. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014, 9:30 a.m. from the Anderson Memorial Chapel 606 Townhall Dr. Romeoville, IL to St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Romeoville, IL for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., followed by graveside services at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Hillside, IL. Visitation Friday, December 26, 2014, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Memorial Chapel. Skoien, Harold Allen  
Harold A. Skoien Harold Allen Skoien, age 81. Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at The Timbers of Shorewood. Born in Joliet, the son of the late Daniel Sr. and Mable (nee Pell) Skoien, he was a lifelong resident. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Retired from Johns Manville and Plainfield School District #202. An avid stamp and coin collector. Survived by his two sons, Anthony Skoien of MS and Kevin Skoien of Round Lake, IL; one brother, Donald Baber of Gainsville, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded by his loving wife, Patricia Skoien; two sisters, Lois and Jean; and one brother, Daniel Jr. Funeral Services for Harold A. Skoien will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Interment St. John Cemetery. Skoulund, Cornelia J.  
Cornelia J. Skoulund Born: July 13, 1925; in Bristol, PA Died: Dec. 21, 2014; in Cary, IL Cornelia J. Skoulund, age 89, of Cary passed away December 21, 2014, at her home. She was born July 13, 1925, in Bristol, PA, the daughter of Sidney and Cornelia (nee Carr) Morris. Cornelia was raised in Elmhurst and graduated from York High School and then attended St. Luke's School of Nursing in Chicago, where she earned her R.N. with the class of 1947-B. She met Quentin Skoulund while working in a local doctor's office and they married on May 19, 1951, at The Church of Our Savior in Elmhurst. They moved to Fox River Grove in 1957 and opened Skoulund's Pharmacy and raised their three daughters. She served as president of the Episcopal Church Women of St. Mark's, as well as a long-time member of the McHenry County Women's Committee and the Fox River Grove Planning Commision. Cornelia (aka Corny, Nee, Corn and Grammy) loved to play bridge with her friend Greta, work on the St. Mark's Altar Guild with her friends Shirley and Bonnie. She'd spend an hour every day with all her friends in Port Charles and cheer on her beloved Cubs. Mostly Cornelia loved spending time with her family, especially her two grandsons, who in her mind were perfect. Cornelia is survived by her husband of 63 years, Quentin; her three daughters, Cornelia "Neelie" (Neils) Kruse, Sarah Skoulund and Margaret (Tom Merz) Skoulund; her two grandsons, Andrew (Dana Ratzek) and Alex (Jessica Mucha) Kruse; her brother, John (Naomi) Morris as well as her three nieces, Ann (David) Hart, Margaret (Michael) Goldberg and Elizabeth Morris. Besides her parents she's preceded in death by a brother, Sidney Morris. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014, with a visitation from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. followed by a Service at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 337 Ridge Rd., Barrington Hills. Terion D. Steward Born: May 3, 1993 Died: Dec. 14, 2014 Terion D. "Tee Dee" Steward was born May 3, 1993, to Lorene Thomas and Willie Steward; dad since birth, Fred Stepney. He departed this life suddenly on December 14, 2014. Teiron attended Joliet Township High School, where he graduated in 2011. Terion was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Barnes; great grandmother, Virginia Thomas; and great grandfather, Chester Thomas. Terion is survived by his mother, Lorene Thomas; dad, Fred Stepney; grandmother, Tinnie Barnes; brothers, Dimontrae and Darvell Stepney; sister, Nataja Thomas; uncle, James Barnes; aunt, Sondra Barnes; a host of extended family members and friends; special friends, Jamonni Anderson, Jarvin Davis and Shawnda Lewis. Stewart, Edward  
Edward Stewart Born: Oct. 30, 1922 Died: Dec. 12, 2014 Edward Stewart. Born on October 30, 1922 in Crawford, Mississippi. The third child born to the union of John W. and Carrie Stewart. Edward departed this life on December 12, 2014. He attended grammar school in Crawford, Mississippi. He also received his high school diploma in Joliet on October 23, 1956. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Brownridge Baptist Church in Crawford, Mississippi under the leadership of Rev. Jesse L. Moore. He married the late Thelma McCarter Whitson and to this union was born one son, John Edward Stewart. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John E. Stewart; one sister, Magnolia Stewart; three brothers, Obry, Nut, and Buster Stewart. He leaves to cherish one daughter, Barbara Stewart Thomas (Albert Thomas) of Flint, Michigan. He also leaves one sister, Carrie McCarter of Chicago, IL; one brother, John W. Stewart, Jr.; three grandchildren, V. Birdies Washington, Jr., Tonya L. Williams, Alicia D. Johnson (Jimmy Johnson); three great grandchildren, Sherikka Sherrod, Dondre Young, Carteas Smith, Jr.; two great grandchildren, Derian Clark, Devyn Sherrod; one sister-in-law, Annie Windfield Brooks; nieces and nephews, Renee Stewart, Peggy (Robert) William, Polly Stewart, Rachel Stewart, Howard Stewart, Virginia Robinson, Katie McCarter, Magnolia McCarter, Deloris McCarter, Jeannette McCarter, Tammy (David) Allen, John Stewart III, Chrissy Stewart, Ernest McCarter, Deywayne McCarter; and a host of great and great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Hal David Story Born: Dec. 1, 1941 Died: Dec. 19, 2014 Hal David Story, age 73, of Joliet, IL, died Friday, December 19, 2014, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. He was born December 1, 1941, to the late Phyllis (nee Banks) and Carl Story in St. Joseph, MI where he was raised, educated and had resided until 1976 when he moved to Bolingbrook, IL. Beloved father of Paul Story of St. Joseph, MI and the late Michael David Story; dear brother of Jean Blackman of Tampa, FL, Fred (Betty) Story of Osceola, IN, Don (Pamela) Story of San Diego, CA, Mary Story of London, Ontario Canada and the late James Story. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews; and his former wife, Debra Story of Joliet. Hal, a retired engineer and former electrician, was a member of B.A.R.S. aiding first responders in weather disasters. He enjoyed being a Ham Radio operator and helping people during crisis. Tinkering with computers was a favorite pastime. As it was Hal's wish, Cremation Rites will be accorded and his ashes will be interred privately at a later date.
