James A. Hatfield James A. Hatfield, age 61, of Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully from this life on November 24, 2014, surrounded by family. Born in Joliet, James "Jim" was the son of the late Gerard and Catherine (nee Macfarlane) Hatfield. He attended St. Paul the Apostle Grade School, Joliet West High School, Western Illinois University and Northern Illinois University. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Karen (nee Wiesbrook); his children Anne Hatfield of Joliet and Mary Hatfield of Dublin, Ireland; brother Robert and Ann (nee Shankland) Hatfield of Naperville; sister Kathleen Hatfield of Joliet; brother-in-laws Michael Wiesbrook of Woodland Park, CO., Ken (Carole) Wiesbrook of Naperville, Chuck Wiesbrook of Denver, CO., Robert (Lisa) Wiesbrook, Aurora; sister-in-law Sue (Joe) Fuentes of Aurora and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was an active, lifelong parishioner of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Joliet and board member of Birthright of Joliet. Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The rosary will prayed at 5:00 p.m.

Katherine Jankola Katherine "Kay" Jankola (Worek), 89 years, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014, at Silver Cross Hospital. Survived by one brother, Joseph Worek of Joliet; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jankola; her parents, Martin and Margaret Worek; two brothers, Stanley (late Irene), Andrew (late Helen) Worek; two sisters, Julia (late Frank) Bahor and Mary Farnsworth; one nephew, Dan Bahor. Born in Joliet, lifelong resident. Former employee of Gerlach & Barklow Printing for 35 years. Past member and very active in Former S. S. Cyril & Methodius Church. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. from Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd. to S. S. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery Chapel for 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial. Raymond G. Johnson Raymond G. "Ray" Johnson, age 79, of Lockport, passed away peacefully November 17, 2014, surrounded by his family. Born in Joliet, living in Lockport since 1956. Ray owned and operated R & A Electric Service, Inc. for 42 years, retiring in 2002. Member of St. Joseph Church, Lockport. Ray coached boys basketball at St. Joseph School, Lockport and also coached for Lockport Boys Baseball. He was an avid fan for all Chicago sports teams. Preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan Angus; and his parents, Raymond C. and Genevieve (Kosinski) Johnson-Beck. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Jane (Shields); five children, Judy Rae (Dan) Angus of Orland Park, Dave (Patricia) Johnson of Lockport, John (the late Karen) Johnson of Chicago, Linda (Robert) Swale of Mokena and Chris (Tami) Johnson of Joliet; eight cherished grandchildren, Rachel (James) Schmitz, Hannah Rae and Austin Johnson, Chloe Varsek, Virginia Rae and Claire Swale and Casey and Danny Wilgosiewicz; a great-grandson, Seth Schmitz; and a sister, Patricia Rae Johnson of Carson City, NV. Numerous nieces, nephews and many friends also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Joseph School Athletic Association would be appreciated. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 21, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 410 S. Jefferson St., Lockport. Per Raymond's wishes, cremation rites will be respectfully addressed.

Eleanor R. Ledoux Eleanor R. Ledoux, age 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 15, 2014, at Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Crystal Lake, with her family by her side. She is survived by her children, Denise (Tim) Roth, Arthur (Roxane) Ledoux; grandchildren, Arthur Ledoux and Alex Ledoux; and a sister, Bonnie Parker. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Richard Kayel Lopez Born: Oct. 17, 1993; in Joliet, IL Died: Nov. 19, 2014; in Joliet, IL Richard Kayel Lopez, age 21, of Joliet, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at home following a sudden seizure. Born October 17, 1993, in Joliet and attended Troy Heritage Trails, Troy Middle School, and graduated from Joliet West High School in 2012 where he was a member of the football and swim teams. He later attended Joliet Junior College. Richard was a loving and devoted son and a protective big brother. He loved music, driving cars, watching superhero movies, playing guitar, collecting DC Marvel Comics, playing video games, fishing with his grandpa, eating his grandma's nutbread and spending time with his dog, Buddy. He will be remembered for his ability to fight through his limitations, being a jokester who loved to laugh and going out of his way to lift someone's spirits when they were down. Surviving are his loving parents, Jill Hernandez and Jesse Martinez of Joliet, and Richard and Emily Lopez of Maywood; his brother, Kodi Lopez; stepbrother, Jacob Vertiz; stepsister, Jocelyn Vertiz; grandparents, Joyce Hernandez, Ysidro Hernandez, Margarita Contreras and Saturnino Lopez; a great-grandmother, Sue Guzman; aunts and uncles, William Rivera, Ivan Rivera, David Lopez, Nilda Santiago, Niriam Rivera, Jolanda Rivera, Ysidro "Cowboy" Hernandez, Mary Hernandez, Jodi Hernandez and Sydney Sayre; and many cousins including a special cousin, Julian Flores. Beloved husband of Shirley and the late Jean, and survived by numerous children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, retired from the Plainfield Department of Streets after 14 years of dedicated service. Was a volunteer fireman with the Plainfield Fire Department for 50 years, he started the first girls' softball league in Plainfield. Ron was an avid Green Bay Packers and Chicago White Sox fan. Preceded in death by her parents, Ernst F. Oder, Sr. and Berta A. (nee Schwartz); and brothers, Kurt F. (Shirley C.) Oder and Ernst F. Oder, Jr. Survived by sister-in-law, Shirley L. Oder (Ernst F.); nieces and nephews, Jane E. (Alan) Costello, Emilie A. (James) McCallister, Ernst Stephen (Cindy) Oder, Alan W. Oder, and Elizabeth C. (David) Mack; great nieces and nephews; and beloved Shih-Tzu, Missy. Graduated from Joliet Twp. Central High School in 1950. Retired from Ameritech with 35+ years as a long-distance operator and 10 years as a greeter at WalMart. Active member of Telephone Pioneers of America and lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Cantigny Post 367. Attended St. Peters Lutheran Church in Joliet, then became an active member of Hope Lutheran Church of Shorewood. Marlene loved her God, country, family, friends and dogs. She loved playing BINGO and was an avid Cubs fan. Marlene was a loyal friend and neighbor and will be missed. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, 305 E. Black Road, Shorewood, IL. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Private inurnment at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery, Joliet, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Lutheran Church or Will County Humane Society.
