Dr. Edwin F. MOrello Dr. Edwin F. Morello, of Naperville, age 86, passed December 15, 2014. Loving brother of Raymond (Dorothy), of Lombard, and the late Lt. John Morello Jr.; cherished uncle to Laura Morello, of Lombard, Mary Sue (Harold) Stetson, of Naperville; dear great-uncle to Scott (Kari) Stetson, Jim Stetson and Bill Stetson; adored great-great uncle to Thora Stetson. Ed received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign, and a Ph. D. from the University of Minnesota, in Organic Chemistry and Philosophy. He worked and retired from BP Amoco Chemical Corporation in Naperville. He received a certificate of appreciation for the scientific and technical growth of Amoco Chemicals Corporation on the occasion of the granting of his 25th U.S. Patent. Ed enjoyed golfing, hiking, snow skiing, bowling and fishing. He looked forward to attending all his great nephews' sporting events, and never missed a game. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated for St. Joseph Catholic Church. Ruby I. Morrison Ruby I. Morrison (nee Smith), passed away at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, Sunday, December 21, 2014. Age 92 years. Survived by two daughters Barb (Robert) Gutierrez and Pat Vitte'. Eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A step-daughter, Ann (Michael) Koch; and a step-son, Gary (Nancy) Morrison. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Leona Smith; five brothers, Ben, Glen, Ernie, Peter Smith and John Mathis. Her first husband, John E. Rauworth (1971); a son, John A. Rauworth; grandson, John Rauworth. Her second husband, Jean Morrison. Brothers-in-law, Ben, William and Charles Rauworth. Sisters-in-law, Verna (Fred) Oetter, Esther (Stanley) Kegley, Mildred (Bervie) Scott, Edith (Ben) White, Mary (Arthur) Petersen and Lena (Michael) Kelly, Jacqueline Johnson and brother-in-law William Morrison; and a dear friend Harold Rosefsky Ruby was active in the PTA at Chaney Monge Grade School and a Girl Scout Leader. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse then joined her husband Jean working on their farm. Ruby enjoyed golf, bowling, gardening, playing euchre and listening to Bob's jokes. She was born in Streator and lived in Crest Hill, Lisbon, Morris and most recently The Timbers in Shorewood. A memorial service will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Friday, December 26, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Matt Robinson officiating. Memorials to Smile Train will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m.

Nelson, Larry C.  
Larry C. Nelson Larry Charles Nelson, age 65, at rest Tuesday, December 23rd, 2014, peacefully at home with his loving family, after complications from pulmonary and cardiac disease. Born in Morris, IL, he spent his life in and around Marseilles and Minooka, IL. After graduating from Minooka High School, Larry started his career in the laboratory at Amoco Chemical, where he worked for over 24 years and 7 years at Expert Optics respectively. He spent the last 30 years of his career in land and residential development (Heather Ridge subdivision), and pursuing other entrepreneurial ventures. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cheryl (nee Smania); three children, Nicole (nee Nelson) Harrington, Nathan and Matthew Nelson; his son-in-law, Jeffrey Harrington; his two daughters-in-law, Evangelia (nee Nikolaou) Nelson, and Aleksandra (nee Wojda) Nelson; grandchildren, Colin and Padraig Harrington; father and mother-in-law, Albert and Patricia (nee Martin) Smania; brother, Bruce Nelson; adopted-in-love father, Eldon Standley; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Sandra Severson, Mike and Peggy Smania, Jodi and Michael O'Connell. Numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends. Preceded in death by his mother, Doris (nee Sharp) Standley; and sister, Pamela Rush in 2014. With a special thank you to Dr. Alex Sosenko, Dr. Sanjiv J. Shah of Northwestern Medical, and all of his friends at Cookies Restaurant in Minooka, IL. Larry led an active life as a loving husband, father, and a prominent member of his community. Outside of his many volunteer activities, his passions and hobbies were bicycling, music, travel, spending time with his family and supporting Minooka Athletics. Larry had a significant impact in and around the community through his many volunteer efforts. He served on the board of Minooka Community High School from 1989 to 2005 (Vice President from 1997 to 2005), as a member of Minooka Village Trustee for 4 years, as a volunteer EMT, Firefighter and Trustee of the Minooka Fire Protection District, as a member of the Minooka Lions Club, and President of the Minooka Baseball and Softball League. Visitation for Larry C. Nelson will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. until Prayer Service begins at 7:15 p.m. at The Maple Funeral Home located at 24300 W. Ford Rd., Channahon, IL with cremation rites following services. Family and Friends are asked to meet directly at St. Mary's Cemetery, Minooka on Monday, December 29, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. for Graveside Services. Kathy J. Parini Born: May 6, 1955 Died: Dec. 10, 2014 Kathy J. (nee Daniels) Parini, born on May 6, 1955, and passed away on December 10, 2014, after a long battle with COPD. Kathy is survived by her daughter, Julie (nee Parini) (Lisa) Wasberg; her husband, Robert Parini; brothers, Jeff (Christina) Daniels and Mike (Leslie) Daniels. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.L. "Dan" Daniels and Margaret "Peg" (nee Couch) Daniels. She loved butterflies and spending time with her good friends. Mae Pasch Mae Pasch, nee Westendorf, age 90, of Lockport, IL died peacefully Saturday, December 20. Beloved wife of Henry (Pat); loving mother of James (Darlene), Jan (Walter) Dearie, Jerry (Lori), Jeff (Michelle Allegretti), and Jaymee (Ken) Lindblom. Cherished grandmother of Kristine (Brian) Hautzinger, Tony (Teressa) Pasch, Kathryn (Gene) Wise, Tara (Jeff) Paine, Amber (Mike) St. Claire, Ryan (Kellie) Pasch, Elisabeth (John Paul) Kaplan, Alaina (Greg) Prawdzik, Alyssa Pasch, Kyle Lindblom, Michelle Lindblom, and Janelle Pasch. Loving great-grandmother to thirteen. Beloved sister to Dolores Haury, Helen Lein, Joyce (Eugene) Ogrodny and JoAnn Leith. Preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mabel Westendorf; brothers, Elmer and Henry; and sister, Elaine. Mae and Pat recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. They have traveled to all 50 states, various European destinations, and especially treasured their annual vacation to Puerto Escondido, Mexico for the past 25 years. Mae was an active member and former board member of the Lockport Golf and Recreation Club, and faithful member of St. Dennis Women's Club and Garden Club. She retired from Pasch and Sons Construction after serving 40 years as office manager. Memorial mass will be held at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Lockport on Monday, December 22, at 11:00 a.m. Per her wishes cremation rite will be accorded with interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Alberto B. Patawaran Born: June 17, 1961 Died: Dec. 18, 2014 Alberto Baldoza Patawaran, age 53, of Crest Hill, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014, at his home after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer and end-stage renal disease. He was born on June 17, 1961, in the Philippines to Cleofe Baldoza and the late Pedro Patawaran. Albert, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, was employed as the Director of Information Technology Services at Chicago State University, and Senior Network Engineer at RR Donnelley Logistics. For several years, he also worked for Caterpillar, Inc. and Caterpillar Logistics Services. He was a beloved husband of 24 years to Arrileen "Arrie" (nee Andres) Patawaran; and loving father of Aaron Patawaran and the late Aldrich Patawaran (2013). Alberto; is also survived by his mother, Cleofe; stepmother, Nhung Nguyen; and mother-in-law, Erlinda Andres. He was also the fond brother and brother-in-law of Alexander, Nathie, Montesa, Albin, Janell, Alfred and Giselle Patawaran, Diana, Benny, Gloria and Rico Fernando, Marisa and Kenny Tonnesson, Arnie and John Bautista, Ardie and Gerry Ramel, Armynd and Harry Mercado, Lyneth, Arvin and Geraldine Andres, and Eric and Sheila Luna. He was the dear uncle of Michael, Marlon, Mario, Marissa, Albin Jr., Aaliyah, Jasmine, Mikalah, Asia, Madeline, Gabriel, and Julia Patawaran, Carmella, Amanda, Gabby and Emily Fernando, Hunter Rodell, Chase Tonnesson, Cierra Holloway, Charisse, Amboy and Toby Manalo, Caleb Natividad, Patricia Andres, Angelique and Aziel Bautista, Lorenzo and Bea Ramel, Herzy Mercado, and E.J. and Justine Luna. Albert loved God and had a passion to share Christ to anyone who would listen. He loved to cook for his family and friends and was very good at it. He was not only technologically and mechanically savvy, but was gifted with his hands, constantly improving the inside and outside of the house. He spent his spring and summer working on his bountiful vegetable garden. There, he would enjoy relaxing outside and drinking coffee while staring at his creation. Alberto also enjoyed sitting in front of his bonfire pit. He will be forever missed by the many family members and close friends he has left behind. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 28, 2014, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 W Black Rd, Joliet. Interment with full military honors will take place Monday, December 29, 2014, at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Phyllis R. Podlesny Phyllis R. Podlesny (nee Ward), age 77, of Lockport, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 18, 2014, at her home surrounded by family and friends at her side. Born in Joliet, living in Lockport since 1965. She was formerly employed at Weber's Dairy Ice Cream Parlor and Illinois Bell Telephone. A proud graduate of Providence High School Class of 1956. Phyllis will be lovingly remembered as a devote wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Therese Podlesny; and her parents, John Sr. and Lillian (Woodin) Ward.
