Irene D. Perkins Irene D Perkins, nee Duffield, age 90, passed away Friday May 1, 2015, at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home in Joliet, with family by her side. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James F. Perkins; daughters, Nancy (Greg) Nieland, Ava (Carmon) Paris; a son, Frank (Penny) Perkins; grandchildren, Chris (Autumn) Nieland, Stephanie Nieland, Nick (Christine) Perkins, Amanda (Aaron) Singleton, Jenny Perkins; great-grandchildren, Wesley and Carter Nieland, Brinley and Baby Singleton; sisters, Verna Lange, Mary Pierson; a brother, Wilbur Duffield; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Florence Duffield; a brother, Harold Duffield. Irene was happiest when she was sewing, cooking and crafting. Funeral services for Irene will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Woodlawn Funeral Home in Joliet. Pastor Kevin Comfort officiating. Inrernment Woodlawn Memorial Park I. Brittney N. Ridgley Born: Dec. 14, 1990 Died: April 24, 2015 Brittney Nicole Ridgley, age 24, of Custer Park, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 24, 2015, due to consequences and the result of a recent battle and addiction to heroin. Born December 14, 1990, in Morris, Brittney Nicole is a daughter of Rodney William, Sr. and Angela Ridgley of Custer Park and Renee (Bondlow) Miller of Florida. She was raised in a Christian home, where she was taught and understood a strong sense of Christian beliefs and fundamentals. Brittney during her school years was a cheerleader and played volleyball. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed four-wheeling. Prior to her battle with addiction, Brittney was always happy, had a vibrant personality and was always helping others. This showed through in her certification as a nursing assistant and phlebotomist. Brittney cherished her younger siblings and was a wonderful mother who dearly loved her son. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile. Survivors include her son, Patrick Joseph Osipavicius; parents, Rodney and Angela Ridgley; biological mother, Renee (Randy) Miller; three brothers, Rodney, Jr. "R.J", Austin and Zachary; sister, Brandy; grandparents, Richard and Chris Ridgley, Deanna (the late Jim) Casey, Patricia Pritchard, Linda Bondlow and Raymond (the late Nancy) Bondlow; aunts and uncles, Richard Ridgley, Pamela Ridgley, Courtney Ridgley, Donna Bondlow, Jason Pritchard and April (David) Scroggins; and the father of her son, Patrick Osipavicius; as well as numerous cousins. Brittney was preceded in death by her uncle, Raymond Bondlow, Jr. Visitation will be held at Christian Faith Center, 1800 South Water Street in Wilmington on Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 1:00 p.m. Dr. Kurtes Quesinberry and Pastor Greg Linkous will officiate and burial will follow in Wesley Cemetery. Gregory V. Santos Gregory V. Santos, age 75, of Romeoville, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015. Beloved father of Glenn (Jayne), David (Anne) and Ronald Santos, Elizabeth (Jeffery) Winiarski, Joyce (Aaren) Merrick and Dan (Nathalie) English; many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren; fond brother of the late Jack (late Tootie) and Bob (late Ann) Harry and the late Jimmy (late Lynn) Santos; many nieces and nephews. Daniel L. Semlar Born: May 3, 1955 Died: April 25, 2015 Daniel L. Semlar, age 59, of Morris, formerly Braceville, passed away Saturday evening, April 25, 2015, at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Born May 3, 1955, in La Crosse, WI, Daniel was a son of the late Louis and Ruby Olson-Semlar. He was raised and educated in Dwight, where he graduated from Dwight High School with the Class of 1973. Daniel was known for his love of attending stock car races and car shows, playing horseshoes, and most especially spending time with his grandson. Survivors include his children, Jason (Barb) Semlar and Krystal Semlar of Morris; grandson, Tyler; three siblings, Janie Semlar of Charleston, MO, Sue Surprenant of Bourbonnais and Steve Semlar of Litchfield; and several nieces and nephews. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation rites have been accorded, and a visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 7:00 p.m., at Reeves Funeral Home in Morris. Patricia A. Shroba Born: Jan. 17, 1941 Died: March 4, 2015 Patricia A. Shroba (nee Hagamann), age 74, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015. Born January 17, 1941, in Joliet to the late Joseph and Mary Hagamann. An active member of St. Edward's Episcopal and Christ Church of Joliet, serving on many church committees. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and solving puzzles; she also enjoyed baking with her grandchildren and spending time with her friends. Surviving is her husband, James, whom she married November 10, 1962; three children, Susan Shroba of Lockport, Kimberly (Steve) Hall of Conneaut, OH and John (Breffni) Shroba of Crest Hill; grandchildren, Alexandra, Stephanie, Kira, Danielle, and Austin; a sister, Joan (Donald) Aigner of Crest Hill; and a brother, Raymond (Sylvia) Hagamann of Sun City, AZ. Patricia worked as a labor and delivery room nurse for 40 years, first at St. Joseph Medical Center for 20 years and ending her career at Silver Cross Hospital, where she was a wonderful mentor and teacher to all of whom had worked with her. Spencer, Marilynn Ann  
Marilynn A. Spencer Marilynn Ann Spencer (nee O'Brien), age 82, of Joliet, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 1, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Marilynn had a large family and will leave behind a lasting legacy. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, and a loving mother and grandmother of six children and 47 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Swimming was her love. She taught all of her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids how to swim. She loved life and religiously prayed for her family and friend's health and happiness. She also prayed for her heavenly Father to bring her home. Those lives she touched, love her dearly as she loved them. Marilynn retired from Silver Cross Hospital where she worked many years as a switchboard operator. Survived by her six children, Lynn (Larry) Litwicki, George (Julie) Spencer, Lesley (Jim) Grzetich, Dawn Sanchez, Kelly (Andy) Sefcik and Tammy Fields; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren; her brother, Jack (Donna) O'Brien; several nieces and nephews; and Art Winslow, who she thought of as a son. Preceded by her husband, Master Sgt. George F. Spencer, who retired from the U.S. Air Force after 25 years; her parents, George and Dorothy (Mehl) O'Brien; and one brother, Eugene O'Brien. Funeral Services for Marilynn Ann Spencer will be held Monday, May 4, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1301 Sterling Avenue, Joliet. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. Stadler, Donald L.  
Donald L. Stadler Born: Feb. 24, 1935 Died: May 1, 2015, Donald L. Stadler "Papa", age 80, passed away peacefully, May 1, 2015, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, following a brief illness and ongoing pains from a broken heart from the time of his beloved wife's passing. His entire family was at his side providing him love and peace for his next journey to be with the love of his life. Born February 24, 1935, in Joliet, IL to the late Mary (nee Ariagno) and Harold Stadler, he attended Joliet Grade Schools and was a graduate of Joliet Township High School. He married Mary F. Flatt on November 8, 1958. Surviving are his children, James (Lynn Grant) Stadler, Suzanne (Steve) Dieter; and Frederick (Angela Acosta) Stadler; his grandchildren, Taylor Stadler (Aaron) and Morgan Stadler (Michael); Zachary (Suzie) Dieter and Matthew Dieter (Ariana); Nathan and Nicole Stadler; and great grandaughter Riley Dieter. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Frances "Nonnie" (nee Flatt) Stadler (2007); his parents and in-laws, Harvey and Katherine Pulley. Don, A U.S. Navy Veteran, was a retired Truck Driver and member of Teamsters Local #179, retiring in 1997. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rockdale, Dale A.C. and the Elks Lodge of Tarpon Springs, FL. The Stadler family will always be grateful to the staffs of Presence St. Joseph Medical Center and Family Medical Group for their great care and compassion shown Don in his last days. Funeral services for Donald Stadler will be Tuesday, May 5, 2015, 9:15 a.m. from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet, to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville. Howard D. Startz Howard D. Startz, age 52, entered eternal life on Sunday, April 26, 2015, in Argonne, Wisconsin. Howie was preceded in death by his loving parents, Robert Sr. and Constance "Connie" (nee Williams) Startz; one niece, Katie Marie Startz. Howie is survived by his dear uncles, John Williams and William Startz; dear aunts, Ruth Kielius (nee Williams) and Millie (Bob) Drdak; loving brothers and sisters, Robert Jr. (Ellen), Elizabeth (Frank) Stec, Tony, JoAnn (Nick) Bravato, Jim, Linda Marcolina, Judith Moats, Janeth Connor-Grogg, and Michael; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Howie graduated from Joliet Catholic High School. He was an avid sports fan. Howie had a loving heart and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Howard's life will begin on Saturday, May 2, 2015, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Joliet.
